G’day. I’m Grant, and I run Fishing Australia from Clontarf, Queensland. Our site has free guides to about 315 fishing spots around Australia, and local fishos read them before they head out. Tackle Connect is how your shop gets in front of those people.
Claim your shop
What your shop gets
- Gear requests from local fishos. Anglers post the gear they’re after on Fishing Australia. You see the requests from your state in your Tackle Connect dashboard and can send the angler a price straight away.
- Your fishing reports on your town’s guide. Write a quick weekly report (what’s biting, where, on what) and add a few photos. It shows on the Fishing Australia guide for your area with your shop name, logo, phone and website.
- Your shop listing. Your shop listed on Fishing Australia, so fishos in your area can find you.
How many people use the guides
In the three months to 7 November 2026, our location guides got more than 16,700 clicks from Google searches, and 218 of those guides got 30 or more clicks each. Those numbers come straight from Google Search Console, Google’s own tool for site owners. Most of those searches are people looking up a town or a spot before they go fishing.
What it looks like in practice
When Tackle Land in Sandgate joined Tackle Connect in October 2026, we featured the shop in our October email newsletter, which went to about 400 anglers on our list. The feature covered where the shop is, its opening hours, and how fishos can get a price from Mark and the crew through Tackle Connect.
What it costs
- First 90 days: free. No card needed to sign up.
- After that: A$49 a month.
- No commission on your sales.
- Cancel any time. No lock-in contract.
You only pay when you choose to subscribe, and billing starts that day.
How to get started
- Claim your shop on the sign-up page (it takes a few minutes).
- We check that you’re a real tackle shop. That’s usually done within 24 business hours, and you’ll get an email when you’re approved.
- Log in, check the gear requests, and post your first fishing report.
